Spiderpets 04:33
We spent these days and weeks, staying on the path as best as we could. We spent these days and weeks, striving through the darkness of Mirkwood. We had some initial luck, a toss, a pull, we worked as a team. We had some initial luck, we found a boat and we could cross the stream. Despite all the good advice, we soon found ourselves sad and troubled. Despite all the good advice, Bombur fell in and our burden was doubled. We heard the strangest sounds, the darkness was deep, the path was narrow. We heard the strangest sounds, on a speedy creature we spent our last arrow. Why oh why, are we treated as prisoners? Why oh why, like fish in your nets. Why oh why, are we now your captives? Tell me now, are these spiders your pets. Was it hunger, was it fatigue, that made us, follow the light? Was it hunger, was it fatigue? Soon enough it turned dark as the night. Bilbo awoke, he saw the spider, the scariest thing he’d ever seen. He awoke and he killed the creature, he sure was no unlucky thirteen. But where could all the dwarves be, noone to be found by sun nor moon. But where could all the dwarves be, suddenly he saw cocoon by cocoon. A hero awoke in our hobbit, if it was brave or stupid depends. A hero awoke in our hobbit. In the end he managed to free his friends. Our hunt for food and guidance, was not performed with axe nor sword. Our hunt for food and guidance, bound in captivity was our reward. Why you ask, are we then here? My answer you will never get! Why you ask, are we then here? I won’t listen to any threat!

I was never one of those, to do deeds or to be brave. I was never one of those, I was born into this world to be a slave. Once we were good I’m told, that is what the rumours say. Once we were good I’m told, but sourcery and mischief made you our pray. I am an orch, bred in Barad-Dûr. I am an orch, I’ve heard there is no cure. I am an orch, bred in Barad-Dûr. I serve the lord of darkness, no matter how scared I feel I serve the lord of darkness, I live on human flesh and kill with steel Once we were elves I’m told, who tricked and led lost their way. Once we were elves I’m told, but trapped and tortured was forces to stray. I am an orch, bred in Barad-Dûr. I am an orch, I’ve heard there is no cure. I am an orch, I’ve heard there is no cure. I am an orch, and I was bred in Barad-Dûr. We were fed and bred in mockery of the creation. Fed and bred into some kind of deviation. I am an orch, I’ve heard there is no cure. I am an orch and I was bred in Barad-Dûr.

Green Dragon 04:18
There’s a dragon, in the Shire, there’s a dragon by the road. There’s a dragon, in the Shire... and he is green. Once inside, you can sit down in a corner. Once inside, you hear stories to make you go pale. If you haven’t got your dearest friends around you. You can always seek for comfort in an ale. All the beer you can drink at the Green Dragon. It makes you dizzy and it rises to your head. But you are never drunk enough to miss the bragging. You can always count on a lie or two from Ted. There’s a dragon, in the Shire. There’s a dragon by the road. There’s a dragon, he can swallow fifty men. There’s a dragon, in the Shire. There’s a dragon, watch your step. There’s a dragon, who may halt you because when... when there’s a dragon, in the Shire. When there’s a dragon by the road. When there’s a dragon, don’t be scared ‘cause he’s not mean. There’s a dragon, in the Shire. There’s a dragon by the road. Down in Bywater he is, and he is green. Song and dance and a poem by the fire. Song and dance and a sip from the mugs. Watch your step if you’re dancing on the tables. Or you surely will break one of the jugs. He is green...

Gondolin 04:02
Circling high among the clouds, the king of eagles Thorondor, he’s watching the valleys deep down, there lies the ruins of a secret town. Diving closer, mourns what he sees, once it was great, but now a waste, all destroyed by forces mean, not much is left of Gondolin. Relationship and blood, friendship and oath, is not a guarantee for the unseen. It was the rash actions of friends from the past, which brought destruction to Gondolin. Attackers came, surrounded town. Elves fought bravely, but in vain. They had been hidden for many years, time had now come, confirming their fears. All the things in this world, must sooner or later die. Even emeralds looses their sheen, farewell you city of Gondolin.

about

“...in Gondor the New Year will always now begin upon the twenty-fifth of March when Sauron fell, and you were brought out of the fire to the King.”

That very same date, the twenty-fifth of March, is also the release date for the first full length album by swedish electronic act Angaudlinn on independent label Electronic Obsession whose earlier releases include Machinepop and Imiafan.
There is no doubt about it. Angaudlinn is a nerdy project. Everything revolves around nerdy subjects. From the wonderful and fantastic world of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, which is the inspiration behind all lyrics and music, to some of the almost half a century old machines used to record the result. And now everything has come together on the nerdiest of formats; vinyl.
“Stories From The Red Book” (EO 003) is pressed in an edition of 300 copies on translucent orange vinyl with swirl highlights in solid red. Each copy contains eight vocal tracks with another eight instrumental intermissions giving a total of sixteen tracks. Four tracks has swedish vocals and the other four are sung in english. Each album comes hand numbered on both label and the accompanying obi styled lyrics sheet. A lyrics sheet which also contains a gear list for each track.
The first Angaudlinn appearance, at least under this name, was on the now sold out cassette box “Dögrävardisko” released on Dödsdans Rekords. Since then Angaudlinn has only released digital singles. So this is the first time on vinyl, which is the preferred format to enjoy music, at least according to Angaudlinn.
Discover the different musical landscapes and structures, from the experimental instrumentals like “Angaudlindalë VII” to the more industrial oozing “Spiderpets” with moody “Gondolin” and cheerful “Mitt Äventyr” somewhere in between.
